We have just returned from a very busy week and a half onboard the Stena IceMAX in Las Palmas creating video content for their latest safety campaign before the rig goes to work in The Bahamas.
It was definitely a warmer climate over there, but the work was not without its challenges. Gran Canaria currently requires by law that everyone wears a face mask both inside and out. Anyone who is used to working offshore will be aware of the amount of stairs you climb each day and in 27 degree heat whilst wearing coveralls, hard hat, gloves etc it was a struggle with a mask too. It definitely put into perspective what the crews are having to face everyday, but despite that we managed to capture some great footage with involvement from many members of the crew, who all brought their individuality and character to the content we created. It was great to see how they are managing to push forwards and be successful during the challenges that COVID-19 has brought.
And in case it isn't obvious from the pictures in this news post, there were some pretty awesome sunrises.
